WinXP Turned off and 5-10Mins boots

This is a question I received and not sure what the person has except winXP on a older system but it wont turn off for 6 months. Its says it ok to turn off the computer, and she does and like 10mins it boots up itself. ANYONE EVER HEARD OF IS??

mine re-starts right after I updated direct cd. I just could't shut it off.

If she has an ethernet card, it could be checking the status
