WinXP to Win2k

Comment:
Two computers, one running Win2k Pro, the other WinXP Pro. Win2K pc can connect to WinXP computer and its shares, but the WinXP computer, although it lists the Win2k computer in its workgroup cannot access it or any shares. When I try to do "properties" of the Win2k pc from the WinXP pc I get "...does not accept remote requests"
Why can I go from Win2k to WinXP but not vice-versa? What do I need to change on either/both to be able to access the Win2K pc from the WinXP pc?
Is your xp system using ntfs? if not, it has been known to cause the very same problem you are mentioning.

An account for XP box on W2K box? Presumably you have an account already for W2K box on XP box which is why you can access XP from W2K; or have you enabled the guest account on XP to allow W2K to access its resources? Enabling the guest account on W2K will also allow XP access (after enabling a share or three...). But the guest account usually has limited options; also leaves you vulnerable to unwelcome visitors if across the web...

Both systems are running NTFS and both have the guest account active. Even if I setup shares on the W2K box with "everyone" having "full control" I still can't get TO the W2K pc FROM the XP pc, but I can get FROM the W2K pc TO the XP pc.
The W2K pc appears in the Workgroup, but when I select it there I get "\\PCNAME is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource..."

I fixed my problem! Hooray for me! Sheesh that was a pain. The problem for me was an old Norton Internet Security Installation. I didn't have it active any more, but when I uninstalled it I connected right away, no problem at all.
