From my first post I installed SP2 and everything seemed to be working fine and then I checked to see what programs were listed as having trouble with SP2 and one of which was Command & Conquer Generals. I thought that I would try and install it to see if there were still issues and it wont install completely, it goes to the finish screen, but then it says that it didnt install completely from being interupted; so has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

I have Generals and Generals Zero hour. Have installed generals on SP2 and SP3 with no issues. Wonder what could be the cause.

The problem seems to be from the Windows SP2 Firewall which I tried to give the particular program an exception, but even though the box is checked to ask for programs to be unblocked it never asked and I tried to give it an exception manually which didnt work since I wasnt able to select it as I get the error "Windows Firewall cannot add 'Command & Conquer Generals' to the list of exceptions even though it is right there on the Add a Program list. I have turned off the Windows SP2 Firewall yet the problem seems to still occur, I have tried reinstalling the game several times as well to no avail, even making sure that before I did that I completely erased all remnants of the game, but nothing has worked. My network also seems to not work correctly now as well, I think the best thing is to not install SP2 as it really seems to be more trouble than its worth. I also understand that MS Windows Vista is a nightmare with most games as well as other programs.
