When I shut down my Windows XP, it appears a blue screen:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed,
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates your might need.If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, and then select Safe Mode.Technical information:
*** STOP: 0X0000009F (0x00000002,0x817CB8F0,0X817E7220,0X817E7CF8)
How can I solve this problem?

i had/have the same problem...i get it when i try to play games (sims, nhl 2002, warcraft 3 beta)...they all crash, from 1 to 30mins of game play, it randomly crashes...very frustrating cause i can't get any progress done
i tried the above url but it seems to be broken....can someone help?

It looks like a last period ( . ) creapt into that url. Copy paste it again making sure the it ends with htm
Just tried it, and the url works, but not with the period at the end.

I had browsed and updated my WinXP by following the instructions, but the problem of shut down is not solved still. Why???

Cannot be sure with the limited info provided. Standard questions would be:
Has this always happened?
If not, when did it start and what happened just before it started?
Was anything updated or added just before this started happening?
What is the system setup (XP what, memory size, motherboard, CPU, hard drive and video type)?
