Here's the drill, I have 3 computers, all running win xp pro. I have a router hooked up to all 3 of them and they all run dsl right now. What I am trying to do is get them all on the same network) so we can transfer files back and forth), which is proving more difficult than I could ever imagined. I have tried the network setup disk, but it won't autoconfigue anything. As far as I can tell, they all have to same settings. PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you.

Have you installed file & print sharing? what i presume you have all three machines sharing the router for the dsl connection. You must make sure that each machine is set with the same workgroup name and that all drives or folders have had their sharing set in order to be able to be seen on the network. Maybe a bit more info will bring more help.

make sure you actually sharing files on the network, the network is there your router will provide it.
go to my computer, right click on the local drive (C:) then go to sharing, click the little text saying you accept the risks, then get it to share. If you don't have anything shared you won't be able to see the other computers on the network period.

I disagree, you absolutely do not have to share a file to see the other computers on the network, but file and printer sharing must be installed on each computer.
