Winxp, multy monitor display

i have an ati radeon 7500 video card which supports multi-monitor display setup, i have the video output hooked up to my tv input
everything on the system (settings) says it should be working "it tells me that both the monitor and the tv are being sent the display
but im still not seeing anything on the tv
i tried changing the modes on the tv etc, still nothing, the tv doesnt have the s-video
on it as well thats why i hooked it upto the other way. can anyone maybe tell me what i am doing wrong or what i can do ??????

Make sure in the display properties the secondary monitor is selected then checkmark "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor".Goodluck
