Well first of all Iam still on a dial up connention via I.E. ver8.0, ISP Netzero ,Conexant D850 56K V.9xDFVc Modem . I believe I need to install service pack 3 in order to increase my connection speed since installing I.E. ver8.0 ? The problem is its such a large download that doing it with my system is not even a option. Microsoft will send you the CD for a small price +shipping charges except you must have a credit card ,which I discontinued using and closed my accounts . Iam curious if anyone can burn SP3 onto a CD and mail it to me . Iam willing to pay via paypal ? Would this not be legal I know the SP3 you install must be for your piticular system which is WindowsXP Pro SP2 MCE2005 ! Any other ideas how I can obtain SP3 ,I have a few thumb drives that are 1G.B. or larger ,however I do not know anyone who has the same O/S I have which would cause it to download the wrong ver setup of SP3 Thanks in advance to all that reply !

I very much doubt that SP3 is going to increase any Dialup speed. Dialup cannot do above 56k. My average is 44k. Sometimes down to 26k.

IE8 won't speed anything up on Dialup. IMHO IE8 behaves like Malware. Hijacks everything to MSN. I uninstalled it after 2 hrs of Using HijackThis to get MY settings restored. Home Page, search, everthing hijacked to MSN. Even my eMail was Hijacked to an old unused Yahoo Account.

Got no warnings, no choice to keep my old settings, no offer to easily restore what I had. Only good thing was that on uninstall everthing reverted back to IE6SP1 with no problems.

Had the same thing happen on a friends HP 7020 XP MCE with Comcast high speed. HJT saved the day.

Yes I bought the IE8 CD.

Get a friend to order the SP3 CD for you. I think SP3 was a good investment, performance wise.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
