Specs: WinXP, 2.66Ghz/1.5Ghz

Hi ppl,

I recently bought WinXP SP1 for my PC which I had installed and activated etc. etc.

Since I frequently perform hardware upgrades, and ended up having to call Dubai?!?! every month for a new product key I concluded that installing an original WinXP package is worse then having a pirate copy installed.

With the introduction of SP2, I have managed to acquire a copy of WinXP SP2 for my PC. I have installed this version and its not giving me any trouble, however the genuine validator tool is saying my XP is not valid.

Does this really make any sense? my Windows has been already activated with this hardware configuration..so microsoft know I have an original copy of windows, its just the OS key that's not matching..which is not a way to identify a machine. Moreover, is there any way I can fix this so that my windows become genuine again..without having to reinstall..I have the original key and would be ready to make one final call to Dubai if this could solve my problems
