I have a WinXP machine with a printer that I want to share, and I have a Win Vista that wants to share the XP printer, both have same username, I set the same password to see if this would work but no go, when I want to go into the XP machine to "connect" the printer it asks me for a user / password, which is the one that is asking? Let me know please, thanks.

I think it is asking you to create a new user name and password. This is what happens when you check the "share this" box
Operating Costs = the cost of operating a business Profits = revenues over and above the operating costs. Taxes = operating costs mandated by gov. TaxPayer = what you are called by the gov.

In which machine do I create a new user? And does it have a special username (as in the one on any of the machines?) what about the password? Thanks.

If the username/password on the Vista machine is the same as the one one the XP machine, it 'should' work.
Make sure the printer is marked as shared. Control Panel > Printers and faxes.

Yes this is what I thought, and I put the same password so no problems will be there, but its not the case, any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Juba,
If the Windows XP and Vista machine are in the same Work Group?
Make sure the printer is marked as shared.
Are you able to ping between the Computers and able to share any files?
If you are able to ping means try to access the shared Folders or the Printer.
If you provide me the above Information, will help me to provide an excellent solution for this.
Thanks and regards, L8ian
