WinRar Problems CRC Fail in XP

I'm having problems unraring files with Winrar in XP. When i try to extract, i continously get lots of error messages saying "Packed data...CRC failed...The Volume is corrupt". I tried it on files that i know worked on my previous system. Also each time i try the same set, it will give me that message on different files. I have tried using versions 2.8, 2.9 and 3.0beta, with the same results. I'm running a Athlon XP 1600, dual boot system with Win 2000 and XP. Any Help would be appreciated

Just testing WinRar compability test with XP Pro. Result = 100% compatible. I guess your Rar file has already corrupted (please try other rar-ed file to test your XP).

I have tried multiple sets that i know worked under 98, and on everyone there is that crc failed message. Could it be a hardware problem or maybe unraring won't work between different file systems. All my partitions are in NTFS and i believe the files i have tried were created in FAT or FAT32. Any ideas ?

Do you have any other hard drive corruption problems? Have you tried copying large files and compare them afterwards? Maybe you have an IDE corruption problem.
It shouldn't matter which file system a file is on. As long as you can see it, it's the same.

I haven't had any other hard drive corruption problems that i know of and i have copied large files with no differences in sizes.
