You must have another XP to replace the file
install XP in another disk and replace it.
the file winlogon.exe cannot replace because its in use by the system...
And you have NTFS file system than can only read with XP.
Win2000 cannot read the new NTFS File system.
Autoexec.bat not exist in XP because its an
improved NT, like Win2000...

I have a question. I have 2505.

I renamed winlogon.exe (under windows/system32) to something like winlogon2.exe

Then place the cracked winlogon.exe to windows/system32 dir. reboot.

After reboot, delete winlogon2.exe (the non-cracked). XP now is running on the cracked winlogon.exe

Here is the problem, after 7days, it says I have less than 7days to activate my XP. I hope I am not doing something wrong.

Also, I notice after replacing winlogon.exe, the file size didnt change, the cracked version is smaller by few bytes, so it is possible I didnt replace the file...but I dont see the reason behind this.

I hope the popup "WinXP needs to activate within 7days" will go away or it doesnt do anything...

Any idea?
