Chris, The file "winlogin.exe" is created by the "W32.Randex.E" virus. There is indeed a viable Windows XP file named "winlogon.exe". (Notice the difference in spelling). Go to the link below which has information and Removal Instructions for this virus. Pay special attention to:

5. Reversing the changes made to the registry (Windows NT/2000/XP).

If you indeed have this virus update your virus definitions and run a full scan and follow all instructions at the link below for Windows XP.

W32.Randex.E

Note: Make sure you do not remove or delete the "winlogon.exe" file or anything pertaining to it.(registry entries, etc.)

Hi everyone

I also have this problem, but it wasn't caused by the W32.RANDEX, but it was caused by WORM_RPCSDBOT.A.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem ??

Chase, You would follow the same instructions in my Response Number 1. It's the same virus as noted below.
