How do i stop programs from adding things into the built in WindowsXP firewall list, I went into my allow/block list today and there was 100's of msmsgs XXXXX TCP. Is there a file on the computer somewhere or maybe entrys in the registry that i can change to stop this from happining again?

The XP built in firewall only works for incoming traffic. It does nothing to either notify you or prevent outgoing programs from accessing the internet. This is its flaw, and why people install hardware and/or software firewalls to protect their XP systems from hackers. Take care and all the best!

If you want a good software firewall for protection there are some very good choices that are free.webattack.com and wilders.org are a few sites that have downloads and info. on firewalls.pcflank.com is an excellent firewall testing site also.Hope this helps.JB
