My computer will freeze for about 5 minutes on the splash screen after the loading screen. It will then load windows normally.
Then I get poor connection errors (msn messenger says key port problems) as well as limited connectivity which goes away when connected directly to my cable modem.
This all started randomly one day. I reformatted using a different hard drive and 1 week later, these problems returned.
No virus/spyware
I removed and checked each hardware component to the point where I just had the mobo & HD running and the problem continued to occur.Checked:
- Graphics
- Sound
- 512 Ram 1
- 512 Ram 2
- CD/DVD Rom
- DVD Burner
- Floppy
- Flash Card ReaderI also disconnected all devices from the computer.
I did a system repair and system restore.
Problem keeps returning? Is it my MOBO? Aside from software thats the only thing left? Unless it is a MS update...
Any Help? Maybe i need to change settings? Anything! PLEASE! heh

Virus and Spyware scans work better in Windows Safe-Mode.

Have u recently upgraded to MSN 7.5? I had a similar problem with my system starting very slowly after upgrading MSN. Simple system restore to before the upgrade sorted it.
