(I don't know what to write for CPU, but it's a Pentium 4)
Recently, my computer developed a problem and I had to restart it, but when I did, it went up to a blue screen telling me that my hardware was not functioning and to uninstall any new hardware, but I didn't have any new hardware. So, I tried to boot up my computer using the Last Known Configuration and that did not work, and I also tried using Safe Mode, and that did not work because it brought me to a blue screen all the time. I also tried changing hte Boot Sequence so it would read CD Rom, Diskette, Hard Drive C: and I put in my Windows XP Cd. However, it did not read my cd at all. I also tried using Boot Up disks, but that did not work as well as it told me somehting about my biosinfo.inf file was bad (I think..)

So, is there any way for me to recover my computer without losing any files? (I had a lot on there..) If not, how am I supposed to boot up my computer to the desktop or even reformat it?

Jeannie..change the boot sequence back to C first. Don't put in your cd or any diskette. I assume you know something with the hardware...I would suggest you to remove the network card....sound card..modem...etc..just leave the graphic card in there..and try to boot up your comp with it.

You files are still safe in the hard drive, you can recover them using another computer.

I have no idea how to remove anything from a computer. Can you help me on how?

And how would I recover them using another computer?.. Like, taking out my harddrive and putting it in another computer and backing up my files? I would love to do that if only my brother's computer had more than 500MB free! He has too many files!

Well..since you don't know about hardware, guiding you online would be tough...so i would suggest you backing up your data and format the harddrive for a clean install OS.

You are rite about that..jusk take out your hard drive and hook it to other computer. you don't know about hardware...could u do this? It does required But sincesome jumper setting and stuff..here is the link you can take a look how to do it

if your bro comp don't have enough space..you can burn some data to cd-rw or cd-r then copy them back later.

Thanks for the help :) I'll see if my brother can do that with his computer once he comes home! And thanks for suggesting to burn my files, I never would have thought of that! I'll tell you how it goes okay :P
