Hi
I have a sony vaio laptop with Windows XP Professional. I have not done any partitions. I want to install Linux 7.1 (dual boot). How do I do? Do I need to formatt the current disk to do that? Will that bring down performance?
Please help and detail me as I have never done partition.

You need to find a copy of Partition Magic 7 and repartition your drives (dont worry, partition magic doesnt delete the contents of your drive).
