windows\system32\config\system on a hp mini

Specs: Windows xp
I have a hp mini it has no cd rom or dvd rom and i received the error windows\system32\config\system error. there is no original setup cd-rom. I can boot from a usb stick but i can't find the file anywhere to download yea there is alot of software out there but if the computer won't start how can i run the software any suggestions

It's not a file that's missing, it's the Windows Registry that's corrupted. The Registry is created when Windows is installed, you can't download it from anywhere. It must be repaired or Windows must be re-installed, or perform a factory recovery on your netbook:

The hp mini 1000 doesn't have a recovery key like vista comes with. my problem was trying to obtain a start up usb flash drive to repair it. The hp website has some writtings about such a flash drive but i couldn't find a price or if they still sale them seeing that xp now outdated. thanks for the help but i went with a computer repair shop seeing that i just don't have the material to do the job.
