I want to delete my current Windows installation and put a new one on a different hard drive.

My current setup goes as follows:

Hard Drive 1 (master)
--Partition C:\ -- Contains Windows and a few small programs like Winzip
--Partition G:\ -- Contains games, programs, etc.

Hard Drive 2 (slave)
--Partition D:\ -- Contains documents like images, work s---, etc.

-----

What I want is this:

Hard Drive 1
--Partition G:\ -- Contains games, programs, etc. as well as the document that were in D.

Hard Drive 2
--Partition C:\ -- Windows

-----

Basically, I want to move everything in D to G, delete the C Partition (and Windows along with it), and reinstall Windows to the then empty hard Drive 2.

Any idea how I would go about doing this? I think I know the basic steps I'd need to follow, but I have no idea in what order.

I've got PartitionMagic installed, which lets you delete/combine partitions. i just don't know at what point I should use it.

Right now, I'm thinking:

1) Move contents of D into G
2) Unplug HDD 1 and set BIOS to read HDD 2 first
3) install Windows to HDD 2 (D)
4) Plug in HDD 1
5) use PartitionMagic to delete C (and the original Windows install)
6) Use PartitionMagic to combine G with the the empty space that used to be C

But I have no idea if this is the correct order, if i'd have to switch the Master/Slave pins, or what effect having 2 windows installs would do.

You will run into major problems with your proposed re-organisation. Even though your current G drive contains games/programs, those will invariably have entries and shared files located in C drive and in registry. When you delete the current C partition you will lose all those shared files and registry pointers and your games & programs will cease to work properly.

Your first step should be to back up all your files to external media.

One presumes you have all the following disks:

XP Instal disk
Motherboard chipset drivers and drivers for all peripheral hardware
Instal disks for all your other programs & games.
backups of all files/documents/music/images/movies etc.

I suggest you use Files & Settings Transfer Wizard to create a backup of things such as email accounts, addressbook etc.

Then reconfigure your hardware.

The disk you currently call D should be configured as Master on Primary IDE to become your "new" Boot drive "C"

Disconnect the other drive entirely while you format and do a clean instal of XP. Then instal your chipset and other drivers and any updates you want before finally re-connecting your other drive ( configured as either Primary Slave or on secondary IDE channel as Master or Slave to suit.

I would then use XP's disk management to delete the current partitions and create & format a new partition on that drive. Then reinstall your games/programs and transfer your data files etc back from the external copies.

You may be able to use PM to achieve the repartitioning of the drive but I've seen a lot of tales of woe resulting from PM failures.

You haven't given details of the sizes/specs of your two physical harddisks, or the file formats of the current /proposed partitions. That info might help frame a response in more specific detail.
