i had format my pc and install XP pro. After that, i saw a recycle bin and that all. How do i make it like win 98 which has IE6, my document and my computer in the desktop? I tried to drag IE6 from startmenu to desktop and it will only create shortcut.

Yes.

Click START>
Right click on the item for which you wish a desktop icon [such as My COmputer] then click on 'Show on Desktop': a 'tick mark' will then appear next to this selection.

You should now have a desktop icon a la Win9x.

ENJOY

right-click the desktop, click properties, desktop tab, customize desktop button, IE is to the right of My Computer.

To keep the xp start menu but not the theme:
right click the desktop, properties, themes, select Windows Classic from the list.

If you want to go even further with it, go to start > run and type 'control folders' (without the quotes) and under Tasks in the General tab click 'use windows classic folders'. That will get rid of the stuff on the left side of the windows. Also if you right click the My Computer icon (on the desktop or the start menu) and select properties, click on Advanced tab and click Settings under Performance, you will see a list of all the effects, choose what you want. You may also want clear type enabled: start > run 'control desktop' and under the Appearance tab click 'Effects' and under "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" select "Clear Type"
