Hey guys,
i want to know that if i install winzip, right, and let it be the default viewer for ZIP Files, would i be able to return the settings, whereas Windows XP will handle the ZIp files once again ?
What i think, if the program takes over the ZIP file association, it won't be able to return it to the default viewer, espacially since this ZIP file viewer is a built-in on Windows XP.
You know what i mean ?Thanx.
Short but sweet,Windows XP views Zip w/built in Zip or Compressed folder viewer > i install Winzip, now Winzip is default viewer > uninstall WinZip > will Windows recognize the Zip file without going through all those "click on zip file and then click on "open with" and select the bla bla bla.." ??

Yes you can do it. You'll just need to go back and change the .zip association. Tools > Folder Options > File Types

Mine lists recommended types when I click on "Change." One is Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Also, you can click "Restore" and it'll change it to the default.
