Hello Everybody, I don’t know if this had anything to do with it, but one day the power flickered in my home, and from then on my Windows XP OS stopped working. The error that came up was \windows\system32\config\system file is corrupted or missing. I ran a repair from my setup disk and it appeared that Windows XP was going to start, but an error window titled “lsass.exe”, and the error was: When trying to update a password, the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not current. The message only appears for about a second then the computer reboots. Would someone please tell me what to do or point me in the right direction? Thank you, Larry

Can you Boot in Safe Mode, hit F8 during the POST screen, if so run all spyware tests, AV, See if it picks up anything. Could be the Sasser Worm, Obtain the sasser remover tool.
