I have solved the problem myself, but posted just in case someone else has the same Issue. My wife was browsing in Firefox and got a message that it had to shut down then the computer shut itself down. We tried to boot in safe mode and I got hung up at the same place in safe mode (multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\config\system) everytime. And I got the same page error when trying to boot from XP CD (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). As mentioned in an earlier post (http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/xp-wont-boot-in-safe-mode/132363.html) as a possible solution, one of my memory (RAM) chips/sticks was bad. I removed it an safe mode worked. Then I bought a replacement chip/stick and it booted in normal mode as well. This is the only place on the web that described my situation exactly so I thought I would post what worked for me to help others searching these errors on google.
