|Obviously those that wrote or copy from other websites never tried doing it themselves. It won't work. That is if you format you hard drive for a new installation of xp. Volume serial number assigned to it is never the same after each format. There are utilities that let you change it in a new installation to match what it was previously in an old install. You just had to remember to write down what it was before formating the hard drive.
