Windows XP will not shutdown

Hello,
When I try to shutdown my computer, it will restart the computer instead. Does anyoone know why. It just recently started doing this. Any help is appreciated.Thanks

check your control panel -> power management options. enable APM and shutdown (or something similar) support. that should solve your problem.
