Comment: Computer was shut down. When turned back on windows xp will not load. I have tried safe mode, last known, etc. No matter which option you try it just restarts and comes right back to the same screen. I can just restore the cpu but was wondering if there might be a more simple solution. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)I have the system recovery discs but was hoping to avoid having to use them. When the computer restarts it goes back the the screen which states that windows didn't load properly and then gives you the options of safe mode, last known, etc.
