I am still running win XP, service pack 1. I have never had any problems with this service pack. I did a test at PC PITSTOP and it reccomends that I upgrade to Service pack 2. Is it neccersary since I have not had any problems with this version? Thanks Ray

if you're happy with it, then don't bother.
however, sp2 includes some major bug fixes and security enhancements and it is recommended to upgrade. furthermore all security patches since 2004 require sp2.
if you prefer an 'offline' installation, sp2 and all crucial patches can be downloaded here:
p.s. backup your important data prior to sp2 installation.

Many software providers no longer support their products on XP w/o SP2. That doesn't mean that their products won't work, just that they don't test their software on other versions or provide support if you run into problems.
