You can certainly make a slipstreamed instal CD incorporating SP2 but it won't have the 30 or 40 subsequent patches included. There may be a SP3 to come out about the same time as Vista is finally released.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Microsoft has further delayed the release of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, moving expected availability from the second half of 2007 to the first half of 2008

use nLite ... as easy as it gets. slipstream service packs, bug fixes, drivers ... and a lot more features, thru an easy to use interface.

download and guides:

I used this batch file from here just a week ago.
http://smithii.com/slipstream_xpsp2

to save the "xpsp2.cmd" batch file from the site right click it and "Save Target as"

It download SP2 and 61 other post SP2 hotfixes and them integrated them all in to my original XP Home CD, that is now 3 years old. Also this guy updates the batch file every month to take into account any new hotfixes

You do need a good broadband connection for a quickish download as we are talking about 360 MB of downloads here.
