Hello, My computer is not connecting through the internet via ethernet cord, I have tried using the commands "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" and it just skips to the next line. I believe my TCP/IP stack is gone! is there anyway to get a service pack or download something? because my computer is not able to renew it's ip address. thanks!

Start with the Windows XP built in help and support pages. See network diagnostics.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Go here and download the "WinsockFix tool" it should solve your problem:

Musky
If the voices inside my head paid rent, I'd be rich!

If that doesn't work, you may want to try the LSP tool
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4...Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

1. Press the "Start" button.
2. click network connections.
3. right click "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties"
4. In the small scary looking box select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click properties.
5. in the two areas check the circles that say "Obtain IP address/DNS server automatically"
6. Then click "OK, OK, wait..." and use the internet.
