Windows XP System Restore Problems

System will not complete System Restore process regardless of Restore Point chosen. System reboots as far as "Welcome" screen but then displays message stating that System cannot be retored to point chosen. I have been through the process of deleting all restore points and then after a week or so trying to restore to no avail. I have more than adequate Hard Drive space (>100 GB). Any tips please. Thanks Chaps, I've had a look at the Knowledge Base already and checked it again as a result of your suggestions. Wombat777 - I think the patch you refer to is in Service Pack 1 which I have installed already. My system seems to record a Restore point at least once a day, most days. A result, I reckon, due to the number of downloaded applications I keep installing (my system is fairly new and I'm still equipping it software-wise. Any other suggestions would be most welcome.
