Just after installing Windows XP, I've realized my computer started up so slowly. It quickly checks RAM and BIOS, after then waits for XP start-up screen to pass. Important thing is there is no program (any of MS or any others) installed to the system. What could be the possible solution?

Have you just installed service pack 1? My friend had the same problem so we wiped his hdd and reinstalled XP Pro, still had the problem!, went into the bios and changed his memory speed to 333, he has pc2700 ddr but his processor is only 266fsb but changing it has speeded it up. This probably doesn't help you much but it's worth checking.

It could be spyware, if so then run Ad-aware. Or you may need to defrag the hard drive, to do so go to: Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Disk Defragmenter.
