I just wanted to say that I consider WIndows XP to be the best version yet, especially with hardware compatibility issues. I had lots of issues with Win 98 with video crapping out occasionally cause it wouldn't recognize drivers properly... As soon as I installed XP, nothing has crashed since, including my video.. I run with over 400 MB RAM, and it runs just great. None of the reported problems with CD Burning have happened to me, just some minor issues with networking setup, but nothing to worry about too much.. All in all, the only headache I had with XP was trying to upgrade from 98 and having to install 98 first. Once the XP upgrade was underway, all was fine. All the latest versions of software run fine too, hassle free. No problems with Office XP, Norton 2002 products. Internet Explorer 6 has also run hassle free since installation.

I don't even work for Microsoft and think that this is a GREAT system!

I use Morpheus (almost identical to KaZaA), and it's been fussy since the beginning. It doesn't work well with XP. We will have to wait for a new version of either to come out!!

XP has barely any compatibility with DOS programs.... its also got some
problems with games (ie. Chessmaster 6000, Black & White...) The reason I
keep it is because its more stable and boots faster than previous Win32
operating systems.

WinXP still has horrible memory management, and uses a overwhelming
amount of stupid, "cool" visual effects that end up slowing down the
performance of your computer. Sure, you can turn it off, but it shouldn't
have been implemented in the first place....

Ok, XP is good, but its not as good as Microsoft promotes it to be.
