Comment: Please forgive me for my general terms, I'm not that great with computers. I keep getting messages about Windows shutting down a buggy system? As well as pop-ups from "Windows Security Centers", or whatever... and then something pops-up that has a memory usage of over 75,000 which causes my computer to freeze. I've already downloaded Hijack This, and Smit Fraud, but I have no idea what to do, if anyone could help that would be great... thank you.

Reply: (edit)Is Spybot S&D fully updated? What makes you think you have smitfraud? BTW, this thread should have been posted in the security forum for better help. Try downloading CCleaner and running it.

Reply: (edit)I updated my spybot earlier this morning, ill run it again and see what it picks up. I tried to repost this in the security forum, but it wouldn't let me post the same thing twice.

Reply: (edit)You didn't answer my question on smitfraud. Why do you think you have that infection and what happened when using the fix?

Reply: (edit)http://www.superantispyware.com/ Try running this one too. It's updated with newer spyware definitions much more frequently than Spybot and Adaware. They were quite good in their day, but better and more thorough programs are available. If you do go to the link above, choose the "free version" in the blue colored box on the left-hand side.
