Hi, We have NT 4 Server ( Domain controller) and Windows XP Professional clients.
In Windows XP, to create new folder it is taking more time. During that time it is establishing connection to DC. ( checked by using netstat -n)
Some time there is delay to get conetext menu ( moue right click ).
If system is removed from network, i am able to create file quickly.

this delay usually related to DNS. XP is looking at DNS for its name resolution. Most NT installations have Wins but not DNS.
Depending the easy way of taking care of this is to put a updated LMHOSTS file on every pc. This way the name resolution requests never hit the wire. They are resolved from the preloaded netbios cache which is populated by the lmhosts file.
