Hi All,
I am using the following .reg file to modify/add to my windows registry:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE]
"FORMS60_PATH"="C:\\MARC\\MARC8.2.14.0\\bindb"
"GRAPHICS60_PATH"="C:\\MARC\\MARC8.2.14.0\\bindb"
"REPORTS60_PATH"="C:\\MARC\\MARC8.2.14.0\\bindb"
"SQLPATH"="C:\\MARC\\MARC8.2.14.0\\UBINDB"In the above I just need to append a value to "SQLPATH" and not edit/modify the value as it already has some value that I dont want to delete/change.
Could some please tell me how to append values to the windows registry variable using .reg file.
I have been looking for it for days.
Thanks,
Vip.

I am a little puzzled as to what you are trying to accomplish.
If the key is already there in the registry go to it, doubleclick it and add your value to the end of the value of the key. You don't have to use a .reg file to merge the new added value.
Note: You should back up the key first just in case you goof it up.
For safety open the Registry for backup:
Click on File\export and save the selected key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE whatever)in a folder you can find easily.To restore:
Open registry click on File then import the old reg file if necessary.

Actually I am writing a installation CD for a software(MARC) that is needed to be installed in a bundle with Oracle Forms version 6i.
MARC adds 4 new keys and it needs to append a value to an already existing variable in the Registry (that is created by the Oracle Forms installation or could be already there even before that).So, I dont want to physically go into the registry and do that.
Could you please tell me of another way of doing the above.
Thanks for the earlier reply.
Vip.

Go in and maual edit the key on one pc to waht you want it to be. Then go to file, save reg file, and save only the selected branch. That will amke a nice .reg file with those keys in it.
