ok here's my problem, i have a old compaq presario 5000 series windows xp home edition 2002 desktop 32bit pc.I have lost all manuals an disks that came with the pc. Anyways every time i start up the computer it keeps rebooting, and never starts up into windows. This happened yesterday after uninstalling sp2 since it was slowing down my pc.I've tried pushing f8 and went through all lists safe mode, last known configuration,ex-cetera... but still reboots over and over again.I have an old recovery disk that has worked before in the past, it would allow me to restart my pc to factory condition, but even that doesn't work no more, and it's not the disk because it is still in good condition. When I place the recovery disk in the drive it immediately goes to a red screen that say's contact compaq technical support. What do i need to do to get my pc to work?If I buy a new hard drive would that work for me? I don't mind losing all my data just want my pc to work thks for the help guys.
