Here is my problem, perhaps someone who has done this type of stuff before can give me a hand.
Currently where I work we have two Windows XP Professional CDs floating around.
The first one is an OEM disk which came with one of the computers that we purchased awhile ago. And the other one is a retail disk that was purchased at a local software store.
Right now I have two systems running on the retail version (one has 27 days left for activation), and I'm going to install the OEM version on the other system when I get the chance.
As far as purchasing licenses goes, everytime I find a license on the internet it is an OEM license. Through experience I know that you cannot use an OEM CDkey on a retail install of Windows XP, but I'm not too sure about licenses. If I purchase an OEM license for windows XP will it work on the retail version?
The only place I can find retail licenses is at MS.com, and I can buy a new copy of Windows XP for less money than I can buy a license from them.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.Regards,
Alex
