Subject: Windows XP Pro Installation HELP!! |
Comment: Recently I decided to rebuild my comp and add Windows XP Pro. I upgraded to a new motherboard with (2) 512 Mb chips and (1) 256 Mb chip. I took out the old components and added the new stuff in but my system would freeze when my old OS (win98) would be adding the new hardware. So after a lot of frustration i put the old components back in and jusrt decided to add XP Pro. When i frst booted back up after putting the old components back in I got some error messages saying some files couldn't be found and i am unable to get on the school network anymore. So i decided that i would just install XP Pro completely instead of upgrading and i got thru the initial installation (blue screen in DOS) but after that another blue screen would come up saying that my ATAPI wasnt compatible or something like that. Here is what im thinking about doing...I'm going to format the hard drive and then rebuild the comp with the new components that I have and then load XP Pro. Will this work?? Any suggestions??? Please help..Thanks
