Comment: Hi!im having a real weird problem while trying to install the windows xp pro sp2 in my computer.I had the windows xp pro sp 2 instaled in one of the partitions of the sata disk(120 Gig from seagate, 4 partitions) it was the D: partition, and the partition C: was on a different disk, an IDE 20 gig from samsung. This happened while i was trying to install the latest version of the windows xp64 OS on one of the other partitions of the SATA disk(E: in this case). Anyway i inserted the xp64 boot disc and it never reached the part of showing the hard disks installed, instead it gave me an error saying for the safety of the hardware it wouldnt continue. After this i turned off the IDE disc(left the SATA one on), and after removing the disk the xp64 boot actually got to the hard-disk check part(the d: partition was now the c: one, meaning that the partitions of the sata disk were with different letters.) So then i turned off the computer and instaled again the IDE disk but this time it wouldnt run the normal windows xp already installed in the d: partition. So then i decided to install first, the windows xp pro sp2 again on the sata disk but now without the IDE disk installed, this way i would avoid the windows being installed with the letter d:, for some reason with both disks installed the IDE always got the c:, but since i wanted to have the windows in the sata one with the c: letter partition this was the only way i could do it fast. Now this is where the real problem starts, after all the events described above, i couldnt get windows xp pro sp2 to be fully installed without it asking me during installation for files that obviously should be in the boot cd. it asked me for the IEXPLORER file and another one i cant remember. So since i couldnt get acess to the cd in this point for some reason, i pressed cancel in these two file requests to move on with the installation. Now after this i got a very weird windows, i dont have the internet explorer nor the windows explorer and also the network files required for having internet are missing. The whole look of it reminds me of the windows 2000/me classic look. I tried to install the missing components from the cd in the windows but it gave me some very weird message errors and i cant do practically nothing. Can this be hardware related?
thanks for the attention
