Comment: Hello, I'm hoping you cab help me. I recently tried to set up my system to recieve automatic updates but when I found the appropriate tab in system it was disabled. And I can't find a way to turn it on. Was it something i did when I installed my operating system or is it something more sinister? I am currently being bugged by the "About Blank" homepage hijack and this has thrown a few odd glitches into the system (still cannot get rid of it and I have followed all the tips and hints!), I would really appreciate some help here guys. Thanks in advance. My Mind and I are Blue Mauvey

Reply: (edit)START > RUN and type SERVICES.MSC This will display all your services in XP; make sure automatic updates are ENABLED and starup type = automatic. Good luck. Sandor

Reply: (edit)First, download and run spybot-search & Destroy. You can get it here: http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10122137.html?part=104443&subj=dlpage&tag=button Then go back and into the control panel, system, and Auto updates tab. Then Check the box that says "Keep my computer up to date..."
