Windows XP Printing to iMac

I am trying to connect a Windows XP machine upto a new iMac so I can print and share files with the iMac. I can share files from the mac to the PC, but the Windows XP machine does not see the files or print to the Mac (USB Printer). Is there a way to do this. I cannot find any protocols or clients that will allow me to do this. If you need any more information just ask. Thanks
