"from AHCI to another"
Make sure in the Boot section, it is set the boot from CD first.

XP does not contain any SATA drivers in it's setup files.
In order to install XP on a machine with a SATA drive you need to either press F6 at the prompt and provide the sata driver on floppy or CD, or create a slipstreamed install CD that includes the SATA drivers needed. Google NLITE for details of slipstreaming. You will need to obtain the drivers from the laptop manufacturer.

Or, if you have a setting there for an IDE compatibility mode that should work. If the CD drive is also SAT it should also run in the compatibility mode.

Sounds like you may be trying to install WinXP while already running in some other operating system.

You should be booting directly to the WinXP CD. Watch for a message to hait any key to boot to the CD. Just tap the spacebar at that time.
