Windows Xp Not Letting Me Log In

My Brother was messing around deleting some files and then when he went and restarted and clicked his name to log in it acts as though it is loging you in flashes his backround for a second then says logging you off and goes back to the screen with the names to choose from. I have tried logging on as adminisrator also. What esle Can I DO??

As the unit boots; hit the F8 key until you get the boot options window. Choose Last Know Configuration or Safe Mode, and see if you can figure out what happened.

I just got the same problem, however i still can't log in using safe mode or last working config. I have know idea what to do! Help

I also have this problem it will not log on does exactly the same I am having a guy come in to repair unless anyone else can help uss.

This is a 'known' problem. Boot from the win XP cd, hit enter to install Wiondows XP. Hit F8 to agree. The cd will check for previous versions and will then ask you if you want to perform a REPAIR on your installation. Do this and it will work again for you. This problem is usually caused by viruses or spyware so check your machine for these once you can log in again!
