Ok i have a compaq laptop that ive had for awhile and never really had any issues with it until now obviously. ok heres what happened i was on the computer fixing to get off and it kinda went slow so i got frustrated and held the power button down till it turned off, didnt think it would be a prob (everyone does that at some point) well when i went to get back on it the fans blow hard (thats normal after i hit the power button) and then it prompts me to boot up in safe mode, start windows normal, or last known config. it doesnt matter what option i choose it would go to the windows XP loading screen attempt to load and then reboots back to the compaq screen. its a never ending cycle and no matter what option i choose to attempt to load it does the same thing anyone have any ideas?

... did you try "safe mode with command prompt" ? ... you hav'nt mentioned it... or try boot up with XP cd tp (r) console command prompt and try chkdsk /R . . ... Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/13... Grrrr... no hush money!

i think i actually tried all of it and no matter what i choose it does the same thing and i dont have an xp cd so i cant restore it even if i wanted too but in case that i didnt ill try it again to see if it works but i doubt it will
