Hi, I am running 2 computers (both running Windows XP Pro) on a home network as below:-

Computers:-

1, AMD Athlon XP3000+, 512MB pc333 DDR ram, 2 x 120 GB HD's, 1 x DVD-RW and 1 x DVD-rom

2, AMD Athlon XP2200+, 512 pc100 DDR ram, 1 x 40 GB HD, 1 x CD-RW, 1 x CD-ROM

Netgear ADSL modem
Belkin Router

The network functions correctly, and both machines access the internet correctly and fastly, the problem is on machine number 1 as listed above I frequently get "network cable unplugged" flashing up in the taskbar area, then it quickly disappears, without affecting my internet connection at all, this problem is annoying as if I am playing online games or such, it flicks back to windows to show the message quickly flick and away, any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance

Craig

The Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Create a new DWORD value, name it EnableBalloonTips, and set it equal to 0. If EnableBalloonTips is already there and equal to 1, set it equal to 0. Quit the registry editor, log off, and log back on. Voila! Your computer will stop talking down to you.
