I'm using a Dynamode 56k (V.90) internal PCI modem with XP. It uses the Rockwell HCF technology. XP detects the modem and installs the Generic 56k HCF driver, but the highest speeds I can connect at are 40000bps. With Win2k I can connect at 49kbps to my ISP with the same system and phone line. What is the reason for this? I think it's the driver, do you know where I can get a driver that will do the job for this?

Thanks In Advance.

Using an Aztec MDP3880-W(U) from Dell, which is a Conexant HCF.

XP (final, build 2600) picks up "Dell Data Fax Modem" driver - NT picked up MDP 3880, W2K picked up HCF.

All 3 OS's work ok, reliably getting 49.3 kbps on the same line. BUT... XP does not stay connected anywhere near as long, according to the system's owner. I'm not yet sure how long that is, but there is no problem in achieving high speeds.

I'm just beginning to test XP to see why it drops more often. First was to force using MS's Aztech MDP 3880 driver, which APPEARS to be the same as the Dell driver, only it connected at 30kbps! Figuring this out is not going to be fun...

I've just installed windows XP and I had a serious problem with my modem Rockwell. Windows XP cannot detect my modem everytime I reboot my computer. So everytime I want to connect to the internet I must reinstall again and again. I hope anybody can find the suitable driver for my modem so it can work properly in WinXP.
