After installing Win XP in a dual Hard disk PC (C: and D:) i tried to boot from D: (disabled C: under BIOS) which is a bootable win98 disk. Booting cequrnce stopped with the error: 'cannot write in c: drive is read only Abort, Retry, Fail). To make a long story sort, even booting from a win98 start up disk i get the same error. I CAN NOT even fdisk/mbr or format my hard disks!! ( i disabled any virus protection from BIOS in case u r wondering) The thing is i can't go back to 98 ( i need to, because i have problems with cd recording under XP) Any help? Thanks

You cannot fdisk that drive with Win98 Fdisk, you must go though part of the setup of XP and delete the partition from setup. Then you can exit setup and create new partition from W98 startup disk. I use dual boot with Win2k, works great! :)
