In Display > Appearance > Windows and Buttons, the Windows XP look has disappeared completely. I don't know how, but after my mum had been on the computer, it disappeared! The only selection I have in the combo box is Windows Classic style. The only way I can think of to restore it is to do a system restore, but I think there must be an easier way.

Please help!

Jim.

Pop your Xp cd in the drive. Then click start>run and paste

expand D:\i386\luna.ms_ %windir%\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles

into the run box and click ok.

D: is your cd drive. If your cd drive letter is different change it to the appropriate drive letter.

If this doesn't work let me know, there are a couple more files that may need to be replaced. This is the main file though.

Sandman, thank you very much, that worked and my XP look is now restored :-D

What would have caused this to go wrong in the first case?

The one thing I noticed that causes this is older versions of System Mechanic. If you use this program update it. It fixes this problem.

If this happens again you can
create a shortcut with the above info for a quick fix.
