Windows XP logo screen freezes

My computer has never had any problems before, but when I started it up today it froze on the windows xp logo screen and just stays like that. I tried rebooting to safe mode but it freezes on that screen too. Any help?? Thanks

Try chkdsk /r from the recovery console.

I have the same problem. I've tried safe mode, last known good, booting from a recovery cd, but nothing. it is a laptop with xp installed, so i have no official xp cd. i tried making a recovery cd from another computer, but nothing works. any luck yet??
