Windows XP Installation problem

Every step successful until i reach the window installing step,when it tells me that in 35 mins the computer will restart.It`s a endless process it tells me to re set.when i do it re starts, thes cycle keeps on going.I would like you pleas slove this problem. Thanks..

And did you confirm that the system "as is" is actually OK for XP - as in you ran the XP upgrade advisor (from within '98 prior to XP installation)? That util determines what may require an update - assorted drivers being the usual item to be aware of...

XP will install and even run (a little slowly...) with 128Meg; I had a version on a Dell Dimension P-2/233 with 128Meg RAM for a while...
It "walked" rather than "ran"... but it did work...; and upping the RAM to 384Meg did help it move a little faster...

i believe bare min for xp is 64mb... are you making sure to delete all partitions and putting XP on a big enough one?
If at first you dont suceed in opening a computer, get a hammer and a chisel like i do...
