After purchasing new mobo/proc/ram and booting up my comp, i try to install windows. After hitting a key to boot from CD, the screen says "Setup is checking your hardware configuration" for about 5 seconds then the screen goes black and nothing happens.

Is this a valid XP cd? Check in biuos to see all drives are recognized properly...if sata drive did you install driver with F6 when called for? Are you sure ram is compatible as ram either not seated right or incomaptible stops XP installs.

everything is recognized, ram/opticaldrives/hdd hdd is IDE and it is a real winxp CD.
What im saying is that when i try to boot from windows XP disc (to install it onto hdd) it says "Setup is now checking your hardware configuration..." then the screen goes black. This is before it goes blue and u can hit f6 to install sata drivers or anything like that.
